Alone Time

Having to deal with a lot of ups and downs in the last year has been a really good learning curve for me and the chance to grow as a person.
One thing that I think is REALLY important is to know how to be alone and to be completely comfortable and content with it. Spending too much time surrounded by people might become overwhelming and unhealthy for somebody. I don’t think it’s a very good thing when a person finds it tricky to spend time with themselves.

Alone time is just something that needs to be done every once in a while. Yes, sometimes I feel like I have too much of it because let’s face it, I work from home, don’t have millions of friends and the friends that I DO have aren’t available all the time. But I am totally comfortable with spending time by myself and actually kinda like it. There’s nothing wrong with it. It’s a good way to “grow up”.

There’s a couple of things I like to do when I’m having my alone time and I’m gonna share them with you riiiiiighhhttt……………………….now.

  1. Walks
I live right near the beach (seafront, really, but “beach” sounds fancier) and the walk down to it is the nicest, most relaxing little trip. it’s nothing amazing, just a normal road with houses and trees, but when my headphones are in and I’m taking in nature and all that cringey stuff, it’s so enjoyable.
  2. Sitting by the sea
When I arrive down to the sea, I love to just sit on the wall or on the sand and look out at the water. I tend to go during the week, so the place is pretty much empty. It’s known that spending time by the sea is really good for you! It’s great to let your mind unwind and breathe it all in.
  3. Shopping
Going up to the shops and mooching around by myself is something that took me ages to build up the balls to do. Anxiety kicks in and for some reason, going shopping alone was scary. But once you find it comfortable to spend time by yourself, it’ll become so much easier.
  4. Reading
I mean, kind of an obvious one because how else are you supposed to read?  But, when you’re in a quiet room and you’re snuggled up all cosy, it’s laaaaaavely.
  5. Baking
Every so often, I looooove making cakes or cookies or something like that. I put some music on and just get on with it. It’s calming and enjoyable!

To be honest, the list could go on and on. There’s a lot of stuff that’s good to do alone. Sometimes, you just have to take some time out of your day and spend it by yourself!

What do you do in your alone time?

Stay Cosy!
