The Body Shop – Skincare

A few months ago, I realised how dry my skin was getting. I also realised that, despite having qualifications in beauty therapy, I wasn’t looking after my skin properly. Not in the slightest. I would use moisturiser and that’d be it. That’s all.
Now, you might think that’s not so bad, but trust me, that’s not enough. Not for me, anyway.

I explained in my skincare routine blog post all about the different types of products that I began using and the specific order I used them in.
After figuring out my skin type, I needed a skincare brand that was not only affordable, but actually good and helpful for me. I wanted to actually be able to notice a difference.

So, I began using The Body Shop products to see whether they could help me out.

Here are the products that I bought…

Vitamin E Cream Cleanser

Right, so the first thing you NEED to do is cleanse. Get rid of any excess makeup or dirt and give your skin a proper good clean. I find this one really enjoyable to use. Though it doesn’t foam up or produce much product on your face, it does the job and leaves your skin feeling so fresh and clean. It smells very refreshing, as well. And, the packaging is so cute!

Vitamin E Hydrating Toner

So, the whole point of toner is to give your skin that extra bit of a clean and a cleanse. It takes off any remainder product that was used prior, as well as taking off any extra dirt. I pour a few drops onto a cotton pad and sweep it across my face once the cleanser is washed off. This toner is perfect for my dry skin as it hydrates the hell out of it, you wouldn’t know I suffer from dry skin. I adore how it matches the cleanser bottle, too.

Oils Of Life – Revitalising Facial Oil

I’ve never used any kind of facial oil before. Once I found out how dry my skin was, I did some research and found that using facial oil definitely decreases dryness and dullness, which is something I’ve also grown to hate. You know those women who you see somewhere, completely bare-faced, no makeup? And yet their skin is somehow glowing? Yeah, that’s what I wanted. And this facial oil is pretty good at it. It proper revitalises. Sort of brings your face to life, in a way. It’s so cute with its little pipette, that you only need to squeeze a few drops out of. I don’t recommend this, however, if your skin type is oily.

Vitamin E Eye Cream

Again, I’ve never used an eye cream before. I never considered it or even worried about dark circles under my eyes. I was browsing the shelves in The Body Shop and came across this little beauty, which, yet again, matches the packaging to the cleanser & toner. Using an eye cream can benefit in such a way and I highly recommend purchasing one. Just a few little dots of it under your eyes before rubbing it in, and that’s all it is.

Vitamin E Intense Moisture Cream – Dry Skin

So, this moisturiser matches the other products and comes under the same Vitamin E Range. However, it’s also specifically for dry skin, which is what I was looking for. So, it’s tailored to suit my skin type. They had other moisturisers which were more suitable for other skin types, such as oily skin, as well. Although the pot is small, you really don’t need to take a lot of product when you use it. Literally just a poke of your finger in there and that’s all you need. And it definitely does the job.

I’ve been using these products for a few weeks now and I can assure you, I have definitely noticed a difference. My skin is a lot more hydrated and those stupid, annoying, grim-looking dry patches you get in random places, like around your nose? Gone, mate. No lie.

And the prices, honestly, are decent. I handle ridiculously expensive skincare products as a career, so to find good products that are actually affordable is a breath of fresh air. You can find all the products I’ve mentioned on their website!
